Soothing the soul mindfully.
Mindfulness is an integral part of addiction treatment these days, and for a good reason: it soothes cravings, promotes stress-management, strengthens self-control, grants a sense of inner peace, and makes life’s great moments even better.
As a handout, “Mindfulness: Physical Sensations“ approaches mindfulness in a new way: it asks clients to WRITE about their experience in real time, in the moment when dealing with cravings or stress. The “coping skill” is caught on paper, grounding the client in something tangible. It’s also proof they’re trying! Therapists can see the client’s work, celebrate their efforts (or give them another blank mindfulness sheet when they’ve lost the first one!), and offer guidance when needed. This is the first of a series of writing mindfulness worksheets that build on a similar theme.
This worksheet comes from the Outside-the-Box Recovery world, a place where sobriety and zest for life go hand in hand. We specialize in recovery material that’s illustrated, unique, and clinically-oriented!
